Finally did it with H/H. Wiped twice but went very smoothly this time. Those 2 lvl 10 henchies are so weak. That's what makes the whole thing difficult.

1) Read thread
2) If you're not good enough to do any of the things listed in said thread, group up with guildies who are.
3) If your guildies aren't good enough to do any of the things listed in said thread, find a PUG.
4) If you can't find a competent PUG (not surprising at this point, most competent players have beaten it already), go back to step 1.

Just goes to show, that nothing is impossible

BTW: Did this remind anyone else of the Glint quests in Proph (end game)?
Nudge, nudge ....

Yup, I still can't do this..

1) Read thread before posting obviously. I've tried Panic, SoS heroes with no success, including identical builds posted in the thread.
2) Guildies don't play any more.. I'm the only one who's completed all the WiK up to this point. Most haven't started it.
3) No one seems to be doing this quest any more. Finding a PUG seems virtually impossible.
4) Goto 1)

I'm limited to H/H and they certainly aren't helping. I've been through a mass of consumables too, so difficulty really is just going up now. I am obviously doing something wrong hey.. I get to the 'last' group every time and have done from first go even, but the group of jade cloaks, bows and armors along with the three bosses (which I seem to get at the same) just steam roll through to Salma barely stopping at all. Unfortunately savanna heat seems to do about 7-20 damage max on these armors with their ~148 AL, but it slaughters all the white mantle bunched up before the jades come along.

So what happens to Kryta now? It appears to be stuck in a permanent state of limbo. I'd be happy to kill 'princess' Salma for them, and claim White Mantle as victors.. Their army is vastly superior when you look at it..

I've done it many times using many different professions... but always with a guild-mate, or my second account. I can well imagine that taking henchmen instead of people/heroes would make things very difficult.

I suggest you post in the "PUGs and Grouping" forum on this site, to find people willing to help. That's if you're OK about posting your IGN...

If you're interested, the heroes I use work fine with just about any professions played by the humans (as long as they bring some decent damage):
E/Mo infuse-prot. Flagged at the rear, and set to avoid combat
2 x N/Me - bone minions, death nova, putrid explosion. Panic and other Mesmer AoE skills
N/Rt - healing, SoS, splinter weapon, spirit rift

The idea is that Necro energy management lets them spam whatever you put on them, endlessly. Eg. Mesmer AoE skills. I have no illusions that my heroes are in any way "optimal" but they've worked for me. Party still wipes once or twice, but recover no problem. Consets not required, but obviously helpful. Spreading the heroes out to avoid party-wide AoE spikes is FTW.

If I play with my second account instead of a guild-mate, I just use it to drop offensive spirits and frozen soil at the back every now and then - while I mainly play on my main account.

Where do you position yourself? The best place for me was at the first stairs. If your pug happends to wipe than they dont steamrol to salma straight away.

You dont need a pug btw, you and another person could do it. One spirit spammer with ancestors rage and maybe spirit rift and one splinter barrage is awesome. As long as you keep nola, alive there will be plenty of minions also.

If people still have difficulty with this fun mission, see the 'services section' of gw guru. I run the entire mission with heroes in under 30 min, with some of your contribution. Run itself is a bit pricey, but so is my time!

I always start at the first stairs, or help out the three guards at the front for the first couple stairs. After, Toriimo and Isaiah will go down at the stairs, then the first wave of Jades might move me back to the central area before they die at which point I move to the stairs again.. The next wave includes Lucent who doesn't cause much of a problem and they generally go down quick, again except for the Jades.

This is usually where things go wrong, with the Jade Cloaks, Oizys and the two Cairns who will usually wipe the party, then we recover and kill them around the middle area or possibly back a bit more but they will usually go down still.. Then the perfected Aegis spawns

So, help me out. Is damage > healing for this, because I seem to do best with a prot/bonder monk + HB monk right up until the end when my Elementalist skills do bugger all damage (ie: 5-21 with Sav Heat on the jades). My third hero is a MM with Aura of the Lich, death nova, putrid bile.

I've swapped out the HB monk for Panic mes or a rit with Signet of Spirits, or both, and tried a couple barrage rangers. Not sure where this is going wrong. I'm doing the snares via Auspicious Incantation and Deep Freeze, which seems to work fairly well.

Alesia is woeful and usually will die in 1 or 2 hits by any of the later Jade Armors. The henchies I have the most luck with are the two warriors as they seem to last longer..

So how about it.. I'm happy to try any 4 template codes + 2 hench offered

Lich is ok, but take putrid explosion to, make your Lich necro second ranger
and let him bring a lvl 7 or 8 EoE.
Take 1 Rt, with SoS,and give him Rt heal skills.
Take 1 Monk with RoJ and HP.

Don't know what your build is...
But take a guildie to, with a ele Nuker and wards or A Panic mesmer.
If you are not sure , take a con set, but you should not need one.

It's fun this quest shame that they don't make more of them

(Fire) Ele nuker is the obvious way. I tend to go earth for HM and BLA. Something along the lines of three AoE earth spells (Unsteady Ground or Sandstorm as elite), a ward (weakness I found useful), EVAS and PI, Earth Attune and AoR.

Not saying it's optimal, but it worked for me

PI will take care of the cloaks, and the other hig damaging jades.

I did this with one other guy, as a SoS with splinter and ancestors rage since that is armour ignoring and they tend to group up.
Monk hero with just healing skills. MM heroe and curses I think. We did ok.

All other chars I did pug and that went fine. I still see pugging in american district so must be possible to get one.

Err... doesn't that insta-gib anyone in your team that's below 90% health, if a bunch of mantle/peacekeepers die?

Nop, it worked perfect for me.

Ironically I've played 90% of my game time with H+H as an earth AoE Ele and had the most enjoyment out of it... buuut earth just doesn't seem to be cutting if for me in this quest. I tried primarily warding too with no luck. Those last Jade Armors (I think they have 148 Armor) take 21 from the largest 'pulse' of Savannah Heat. Without any kind of armor reduction it barely registers on them! My build is basically now E/Me Echo, Sav Heat, Teinai's Heat, Searing Heat, Auspicious Incant, Deep Freeze, Pain Invert and Fire Attune. Echoing Sav Heat if there's a bunched up group or PI if attacking the bosses or ele's.

This is possibly the problem.. without any decent armour ignores the Jades are too tough for elemental DP. There also doesn't seem to be any PUG's around when I play, and that leaves two unskilled henchmen who are level 10.

Pain Inverter will take out a cloak easily, but only if I have the minions around to soak the damage up. Course it doesn't help that I have the only PI, and it takes some time to recharge still when there are 4-6+ cloaks around at once..

Or, I could just be unlucky.

I don't understand this. If EoE blows up mantle/peacekeepers, how come it doesn't also blow up your team and/or the NPC's?

Mantle/peacekeepers don't count as humans?
No-one in your team goes below 90% health?
Mantle/peacekeepers are in range of EoE, but your team is not?

None of those seems likely, so how does it work?

I would think that EoE would only get setup when the jades spawn. Before that if you have trouble something is very very wrong with your team.

Perhaps the problem is that EoE's definition of "creatures of the same type" is not the same as yours. Perhaps the "creature type" is "white mantle" or "peacekeeper" instead of "human".

Very interesting. I guess they are indeed "non-human"... but that would be a bug, surely?
